PCAA 45th anniversary

The PCAA marks its 45th anniversary in Autumn 2022! The achievements of committees and volunteers over the years (providing all sorts of wonderful creative and artistic events and opportunities for Penicuik) will be celebrated in a wee programme of events during October (see programme below).

Latest News! The Penicuik Community Development Trust (PCDT) has invited to put up an exhibition to show how the PCAA began and developed over 45 years. The exhibition will be shown at the PCDT’s “Open House” at the Cowan Institute (Town Hall) on Saturday 22nd and Saturday 29th October 2022. Hope to see you there!

Open Exhibition for the Penicuik Turner and People’s Choice prizes

The artists pack containing all information can be found by clicking here. The exhibition will run from Saturday 1st October to Saturday 5th November.

Key dates:

Thursday 29th September from 2.00pm until 4.00pm and from 7.00pm until 8.00pm:  Hand in of entries to the exhibition (Or by prior arrangement with organisers)

Saturday 1st October 2pm: Meet the artist event

Sunday 6th November 10am – 12 noon: Collection of unsold works (or arrange with organiser).

Other events

Saturday 1st October 2pm: Meet the artist event when artists will have a chance to talk about their work very informally, and chat to family and friends

Friday 7th October 2pm at Cowan Court: Justyna Jablonska performs her second free concert for us! The concert is free – but it’s £2 for refreshments provided by Cowan Court. You’ll need a ticket! Pick one up from the Arts Centre, or email to reserve penicuikarts.org@gmail.com.

Sunday 9th October 2pm: Birthday party with live music from local invited amateur musicians, items from the floor, refreshments including a birthday cake, exhibitions, and blether.

Saturday 8th & Sunday 9th October 11am to 4pm – Open Studio – Weaver Christina Suter invites you in! She is also open by appointment the following week – please contact her directly (weavingstories@gmail.com)

Friday 14th October 7:30pm at the Arts Centre: The first PCAA Storytelling club with professional storyteller Ruth Kirkpatrick and friends! £5. Tickets from the Arts Centre café or online. Please click here.
