Make a Splash – for children

MAKE A SPLASH! is a FREE online collection of short films and creative activities exploring water and the environment through the arts.

Aimed at primary-age children, the source to sea journey covers a wide range of topics: the Water Cycle, Plastic Pollution, Humpback Whales, Source to Sea litter and Marine Protected Areas. Fully-captioned films introduce each topic, followed by questions to discuss and fun activities to try.

MAKE A SPLASH! includes contributions from incredible sea trash artist Hannah Tofts, inspirational poet Nalini Paul, and musician and whale song expert Dr Alex South. It was produced by violin & cello duo Sequoia in collaboration with Monika Smekot, and performances of folk, classical and contemporary music feature throughout.

MAKE A SPLASH! is being launched in the run up to UN World Water Day on 22nd March 2023. On this date people across the globe join to celebrate water, highlighting the need to protect it and considering ways to do this.
