The PCAA Penfest workers are basking in a warm glow of satisfaction after a varied week of music, art and spoken word. Thanks to everyone who contributed and who supported the events.

The winner of the Penicuik Turner Prize was again Janette Bell with her watercolour painting “Towards Applecross”

This year’s winner of the People’s Choice prize was Jacquline Keith, for her acrylic painting “River Clyde Sunset”.

Many congratulations to both artists, and many thanks to the Turner Prize judges Jan Miller and Walter Simms who had a very hard task trying to select a winner from so many very high quality entries.

There’s always an art exhibition at West Street. This month, two artists – Christine Finlayson and Anne Frost present their exhibition “Creative Escapes” in the West Street café-gallery. Do pop along to view their beautiful work, and while you’re there, have a cup of tea or coffee and a home baked goody from the café!
