The Garden Studio – Ulla Hipkin
Ulla’s exhibition ties in with the Penicuik Carbon Challenge project – it’s about ‘Life style & Carbon Challenge’. The paintings on the poster show the tree houses in Bilston Glen (on the way from our town to Edinburgh) which were occupied for some years in protest against a new road planned to go through the Green Belt (which has not now been built on); and two consumers ‘Buy Buy Buy …’ mixed media/with print painting. There are also large paintings of flowering asphalt, cars and lifestyle, oil pollution in the North Sea, and a very large one of the Pentland Hills and climate change. Ulla hopes it is thought provoking!
