Storytelling Club – Autumn
November 22 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm
Ron Fairweather is a professional storyteller registered with the Scottish Storytelling Centre since 2003. Ron likes to share a variety of stories especially traditional tales and he also likes to sing the odd song or two.
Prior to becoming a professional storyteller Ron has worked as a deep sea fisherman, in the oil and property industries, and the music business with both music giants Sony and the Proclaimers own label, Braw Music.
Ron also works regularly with fellow storyteller Fergus McNicol as the Duo Macastory delivering themed storytelling into countless schools, libraries, museums and festivals all over Scotland. Together they have created projects with and for the likes of the National Museum of Scotland, the National Portrait Gallery, the National Library and Scottish Ballet, the Edinburgh International Book Festival Outreach Programme, the Dunfermline Heritage Trust and Edinburgh World Heritage .
Macastory are also regular participants at The Edinburgh International Book Festival. One of Macastory’s priorities is to provide a live experience of storytelling and singing while also encouraging the audience to interact with the stories and songs. In live performances we encourage the audience to take part and engage by using invented larger than life characters .
