The Gallery Cafe is the heart of the arts centre at 4 West Street. Open Mondays to Saturdays 10 am - 4 pm, the cafe is run as a cooperative by a handful of Penicuik Arts members and is a good place to find tasty vegetarian food.

What you see here is home made: the soups, the organic bread, the cakes and biscuits. While you enjoy a coffee, you can also enjoy the gallery around you, with exhibitions changing every month.

Beyond the cafe is the sheltered sun garden for eating out on warmer days. And upstairs there is the craft shop packed with all sorts of interesting things made locally.
